Truck is missing between 30-40 MPH. Replaced cap, rotor, wires and plugs.
Happens only on acceleration in any gear. Rotated tires thinking i might
have one out of balance.
Did notice that the plugs were a white color, all six the same when i changed
them, and if it has anything to do with it, i did notice a big INCREASE in
milage before the miss started happening.
See if you can separate the engine from the driveline. Like, slowly reving it up in park or neutral. Also, how about getting it to shake on the road and letting off the gas, or pushing the clutch in, or slipping into N. Does the noise go away? That would give you data as to whether it is the rolling chasis or engine under load, right?
Sorry, forgot to add that, while acelerating thru the speed range, depressing
the clutch causes the miss/shake to go away, making me believe it is
related to the engine. also, its only under load, coasting or decreasing
speed shows no sign of the miss/shake. Thanks
could it be a TPS starting to go bad? EGR opening too much. MAP sensor starting to go bad, not telling the computer to give it more fuel because its having a hard time "seeing" low vacuum under a load. You said the plugs looked lean and you noticed fuel milage going up; some how some way its not getting enough fuel it sounds like.
PS could the screens in the fuel rail be plugged up? have the fuel system cleaned and back flushed.
