Thumbs down The Green Shaft

So what does everyone figure of Stephane Dion's plan to tax emissions caused by mining uranium, oil, and potash as well farming and trucking. Which is mainly caused by Saskatchewan and Alberta and investing the bulk of it to Ontario programs. estimated 15 billion annaul Omntario will recieve from taxes collected from Saskatchewan and Alberta buissness.
Has anyone else heard of this?
Doesn't it make you just want to have a referendom and leave Ontario to fend for itself, or am i the only one?

Jealous because they can't stand to see western Canada doing well, and they need to put their grubby fingers in our pot - now that Saskatchewan is in its own economic oilfield boom!

Fortunately Stephane Dion has no hope of ever being in power.....

Your right, these days you never know but it seems that he`s too unpopular to ever have a chance of becoming Canada`s Prime Minister....At least that`s my hope.

I'm guessing he'll be in power sooner then we think I'm sure our Ontario "friends" will see this money and all vote Liberal, as we all know Ontario and Quebec choose who our next PM will be. The only MP in Sask/Alta is Ralph Goodale versus the Liberals will be gaining about 30 seats, thus winning the next election.

Is saskatchewan really that bad for pullution? Seems like ontario/quebec would be worse. Now i didnt see any proof that pollution is that bad here in sask, but I know alberta is a little worse. Let me tell ya though, i lived in te lower mainland, and we do not have the pollution here like there is down there.

Im all in for a greener canada, but i think mr dion can kiss my ***. I agree with harper it sounds like the plan is out to bend everyone over, and not supply anyone with lube.

Mr dion would not like to have a conversaion with me, he might call my language a tad worse then vulgar

The problem is they divide the polution rate by the population, ab and sk make up for 40% of canad's pollution.

It is another money grab. He says the average Canadian will have their income taxed lowered by $3??.00 dollars a year. WhoopT Do. But we will pay more in the green tax in the gas taxes as he proposes.
Also The Liberal controled the money made from the resousres in western Canad back in the 70's. That money all went out East to help ONT. And Que.. In the 80's the Conservatives released that back to Alta. That is why Alta has been able to do so well. The moneys from their resourses are going back to them. So this green tax again will hurt us. But help Ont. who has all the pollution from all their manufacturing going on that was started back when the Liberals took our resouse gain for out there.
By the way, this thread may get shut down. We are not to be talking Politics here.

See i think they may care about the enviroment, but they try to work it in a way to make too much money from everyone.

The last thing everyone needs is another tax. Plus if they did tax the hell outta us ever more, why not keep that money in saskatchewan and alberta, why should it go out east.
