Why won't my 1989 bronco 5.8 give me flash codes when I jump the diagnostic lead with a wire as per the repair manual? When I jump it and turn the key, the engine light doesn't flash or anything. Trust me, it should have codes. Do the codes get erased if you remove the battery? I can't get the thing running, so I can't warm it up or do a running test.
