Got in an accident..
I'm heading back to work, and turn on the street right outside my work.
I look up ahead, and I see a car accident.
A car had hit a parked truck, and I saw the truck roll up on a curb and hit a brick wall.
So, I go up the road a little past the accident, and make a u-turn to go back to the accident.
Before I do the U-turn, I look in my mirrors, and don't see anyone. I turn on my strobe lights, and start turning.
I hear this car start honking, and I look out my window, and this car was right there...
it hit the back corner of my truck.
Totaled her 1990's Nissan car..
and did this to mine:

It's not that bad, really. But.. it still hurt my truck, you know?
Right after the accident, I see a sheriff pull right up in the middle of the road.
I get out, and hand the sheriff my insurance, registration, and license. The sheriff looks at me and says "Don't worry bro, your not at fault." I look at him and go (didn't say..) uh.. I just made an illegal u-turn,... huh? and he goes again "Don't worry. It's not your fault."
So about 5 min. later, another sheriff comes over to me. I tell him the other sheriff said it's not my fault, and he goes over to find out why.
The sheriff comes back and says "Well, that cop saw the accident. He said since you had your emergency strobe lights on, and you sat at the curb for a second, you were clearly identifying an accident and you needed to get to it. So, were going to write the report as if its 100% the other drivers fault and not yours at all".
I'm like.. SWEET.
But, then he said "Your insurance might not agree with it though. They might have to fight with the other person's insurance and you might be responsible.."
So CRAP.
I might have to pay my $500 and have my insurance go up.
But.. I might not.
Everyone both from the first accident and from my accident were checked out by the fire dept. and all are ok. No one hurt.
I called my insurance company and told them what is going on. I don't know what to do next..

On the rear, I have 2 LED lights in each corner, and a strobe light in the center.

and the sticker says "LACR".. which is a drag strip out in my area that I worked at that closed not too long ago.
I have the lights because I use to be a part of the Fire Rescue crew at the race track, and I just never took them off. I'm also trying to be apart of the local Volunteer Sheriff's Department.
Two of the shops I went to quoted me around $2,500. (Which my insurance would pay.. and I'd have to pay the $500 deductible if my insurance finds me at fault..)
Then another one quoted me $3,000
And the last one, which I plan on taking my truck to, quoted me $3,100.
The last one I went to pointed out alot more than the previous three did. They showed me where the tailgate was slightly damaged on the edge because of the side panel rubbing against it.
All of the places did say the whole side of the bed needs to be replaced though. They said it won't look right if they just straighten it out and paint it.
Also, the last place will repaint my front bumper where rocks have chipped it for free.
With the strobes mounted low in the rear window, is there a chance your p/u box could obscure the lights from a driver of a car who may have been distracted as she drove past the original accident?
And I agree with the person who said "I'm not the fire department..". Honestly, if they do find that I'm at fault, I'm not going to be surprised. Just as soon as it happened, I thought to myself that I was. It's when they said I wasn't that I was surprised. I can't afford my rates to go up anymore either! This is my first accident, no tickets.. And I'm paying $222 a month. But, I'm also 18 years old (have had a license and been driving since I was 15 and a half though).. and a guy.. in a newer truck.
