I used a product called serious stuff on the lower felts. Its just a strong adhesive like gripfill. I held them in place with some wooden clothes pegs, between the glass and the felt. I split the clothes pegs in half and used them as a wedge and let them set for a day. They stay in place when the window is wound up and down without moving. I just used black silicone on the channel and wound the window up tight to hold. They are fun aren't they to fit ;o)
It will be available in the US for definite, just be under a different name. A similar adhesive is used by the car trade to stick car fenders one modern cars. I have the weather strip adhesive (yellow) I don't think that would be up to the job.
The serious stuff or gripfill as its called (trade name) is a real thick sticky material in a tube like silicone. I am sure you would get it at any hardware store.
The corners on the felts do need flattening before fitting and just a bit of bending to follow the right shape of the window frame. They are not a fantastic fit but look Ok.

yes on the flattening and bending.. need to know how to install before going there yet.. the beads are unhappy being bent too many times.
Sam, there is a product available that lips over the edge of the door top like late model stuff. I will look tonite and get a name of supplier. You have to do a little work to create the curve at front of door, but it is doable. I have some for my 40 that I removed vent windows from and have played with it a little but have not installed yet. Let me get some info for you tonite. Joe
I spent some time looking at the placement of the bead after the install and the size of the gap, and it will NOT look right with the beaded edge, no matter what..
Sam this stuff is similiar to what you have shown above. I bought mine from Restoration Specialties & Supply in Windber PA. Item # WIN-MR172X-96. 8 feet for $22.00. You have to use snips to cut small slices to "bend" to fit window curve. Joe
If you're still thinking about adhesive,my sidewindow kit has just been successfully installed using 'Tiger Seal'.I think it's a US made non silicone product.

thanks..
that one is without the bead, YM172 is with the bead..
Sam the last time I tried to post pics I failed. Used to be easy untill my membership lapsed. That is correct, no chrome bead. But if I remember correctly they had it with bead.

A steel adhesive like Plexus or one from LORD Corp will definitely hold it in place. I glued some sheet metal to some heavy channel iron. When I tried to get them apart, I tore the sheet metal. The bond did not fail.
