A freind of mine who wants to help me setup my '94 F-350's sound thinks I'll be best if I go with $50 Jensen 5x7 3-way speakers. However, I thought I would be best with a $95 Pioneer 5x7 3-way spearkers. Any suggestions? I don't remeber very many specifics about any of the speakers(however I think the wattage was 120 for both). Does anyone know what speaker size will fit into my truck? It is a reg cab. Know any on-line databases? I don't want to tear apart the inside just yet. For my deck I plan to use a Sony with 4 channels at 50W each.
I believe you only have 2 door speakers in a reg cab and they are 6 1/2" i do not know where you got 5x7 unless you have those in the cab corners which you may, definenately go with the pioneers jensen always has been crap anyone frimiliar with stereos knows this and would laugh at jensens name and laugh even harder about their products, when buying stereo equipment, you certainly "get what you pay for"
Actually I "work"(don't get paid, and don't have much exp.) at a body shop in the afternoons, I'll talk to the owner. 6 1/2 just doesn't seem right. Either does 5x7. I guess I'll have to take apart the door/cab corner. I'll make sure not to get the Jensen speakers.
Up front your speakers are 6 1/2s and in the back they are 6x8's. I went for the pioneers because I like they way they sounded. Thats the best way to decide, pick the one that sounds the best.
Sound System: Stock Stereo, RockfordFosgate 800 watt amp, Vega 18" sub (400 watt rms), one Cerwin-Vega LS-12 3 way floor speaker with the Vega sub removed (because I blew it) and a RockfordFosgate 12" sub (500 watt rms) in its place. And one Boise floor speaker with a 75 watt power capacity (you know it ain’t gonna last). A pair or Pioneer oversized 6 1/2s with 180 watt max (50 watt rec) up front
Performance Mods: K&N Air Filter.
Cosmetic Mods: Black Grill Guard, 5% window tint, bug guard, bed liner.
I agree, get the speakers that sound best for the music you listen too. No point in paying for an expensive speaker if you are not real particular about the sound. Personally I would go with the Pioneers. They are much higher quality and will perform much better.
dont go with jenson speakers they are crap!!!!!
Either go with some pioneer or i suggest jbl
also if ya want alot of treble, go with some 3-ways
if you dont rteally plan on some subs being in there or cranking\
it, go with 2-ways
