Anyone ever use the Permatex or Loctite repair kits?
The kit is $10 and my windshield is far from new but now has a nice little chip which is going to crack.
I was going to give it a try but if it's a waste of time............
And here in NY, you get up to two glass replacements per year without a deductible and no increase in rates allowed. If it's registered as a passenger-car, commercial insurance doesn't cover it that way...
I've used one of those kits before, I think it was the Permatex one. It worked - sorta.
I think to do it RIGHT, you need a glass place to put a real vacuum source on the chip - the syringe-style kit doesn't do that great a job.
truck I bought used had several bulls eyes and was unrepairable. Local glass shop replaced the windshield with an new replacement "wilkington" glass made in Canada and it was out the door $165.
