I just got some new brake lube I have never seen or used before and am wondering if any of you guys have used Permatex Ceramic Extreme Brake parts lubricant # 24125 . http://www.permatex.com/documents/td...tive/24125.pdf http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut..._Lubricant.htm
Well I am going to give it a try since I keep having problems with my left front caliber keeps hanging up ( slide pins & brake pads). I would feel a little better knowing someone have had good luck with it.
Yes, Permatex is what we use. Good stuff. What you have may be over-kill, or just hype with the word "ceramic" in it, but it looks like it will do the job.
We need the answer to Clint's question, because it's important.
Hello Guys, Well I have new slide pins but not the updated ones. I am not sure on those new type I have heard many have havd good luck with them but others still have problems and have switched back. But what I think the problem is that the bore in the caliber mounting bracket is wore out and the pins bind in bore. So I am going to also replace the caliber mount bracket. I did have the pins rusted in that side when I did the brakes. And I had made a little bore hone and cleaned them up and cleaned old pins and installed. Well 5k later I still have problem that comes and goes. It drives me NUTS!!! So
So new brake lube, pins and mount bracket. I also am going to clean all other pins and use new lube. The brake lube I used was for brakes but it was a no name brand.
Thanks for the input.
