I have recently acquired a 1937 Ford 5 window coupe which was an older rod project. It sets on an old Ford truck frame and has a Ford big block power plant with an auto trans. My goal is to find the specifications for the engine. This is the info I have:
Block cast no. C6ME-A, Date code 6H5
Intake man. C7TE9426E 6H4
RH Cyl. head C6AE-Y
RH Exhaust man. C6AE9430-A, 8 bolt, vert. aligned.
LH Cyl. head C7AE-A
LH Exhaust man. C3SE9431-B, 8 bolt, vert. aligned.
Autolite Distributor, C7AF 12127 Y, (5 or 6)H8
Autolite Carb. Tag C7AFAK, B6HB (2 barrel)
Unsure of the tranny model, can't find a number...
The engine is currently stuck, but ran when parked some 25 years ago. I am undecided weather to rebuild this engine or replace it with another.
I am replacing the truck frame with an aftermarket rod frame.
Also what reading material is recommended for identification and rebuild.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you, Don
