98 psd got an intercooler?

Is it built on a van chassis? If yes then it won't be intercooled and I think it will have an E4OD. if not it could be either IC'ed or not and either and E4 or 4R100. 98 was a change over year.

It does not have an intercooler. 7.3L vans never had an intercooler.
I *think* the '98s were all 4R100s, but RVs are hard to determine. Sometimes the model year of the RV and the chassis don't match, i.e., the RV is titled as a '98, but was built with a '97 chassis. The model year is determined by when the final assembly happens, not when the chassis is built.

i just got an email from the guy and he says its a 98.5 PSD...still no info on the intercooler if it has one or not...so the tranny would be the 4r100?..is it any better the the e4od or worse?...
my e4od only lasted 6 years...just after the warrantee expired it fried..tourqe converter filled up the cooling system till it cooked..this guy has pulled a vehicle around so its got me worried a bit...
i can deal with not having an intercooler but i hope its got plenty of tranny cooler on it..

It probably is the 4R100. The 4R100 is an improved E4OD. It's stronger.

ok so now what chip anybody got to recommend?..i have the superchips tuner in my 97 psd with slide in camper and have it set to high perf even when im hauling the boat cause i have coolers out the ying yang
this 28' e-450 "c" class weighs 25-30k pounds when its fully loaded...since it does not have an intercooler what setting would you guys use say if i got another scmt??...i like the option of reading the trouble codes and will prob be getting another..

ive been shopping online for a chip and it seems that superchips is no longer making a programer for the 98 psd anymore...there is Hypertech Max Energy Programmer which does basically the same thing...has anybody got one of these? i bought my scmt from motorhaven and they were really good to deal with before...im temped to go with them again..ill call them monday for details...sorry for the font..i pasted it from their website
