No cat noise fix!
I took my cat off because of fires started on our ranch previosly, staight piped it and had the rams horn taken off and a y pipe made in its place. So all that was left was the stock muffler. Sounded like sh*#, I was convinced of going with a FM70 from all the reading in this forum. When I went to the muffler shop the guy convinced me a dynomax superturbo would be quiter than the FM70. After much hesitation I decided to trust him. Well, I knew the moment I drove off that I would be back the next day, and I was! It sounded about the same as when I took it in, a glasspack type, snappy sound from 1500 to 2500 rpms. Anyway the guy suggested we put a a resonator before the muffler, said it was pretty much a glasspack. WOW, those things really work, its about 20 inches long and barely larger than the 3" regular exhaust pipe. Very mild rumble while driving and a nice deep idle! I couldnt be happier. Just thought id post this incase any others have the same problem I did. And YES the exhaust stinks w/o a cat.lol
