Hey all, First im new to the forum and it is great! It helped me to decide to get a 01' F250 (Diesel!!) vs a Chevy...
I have the CD changer all bolted in and the wires ran to the dash. I used a different Post/thread to help me figure out how to pull out the factory radio unit. (thanks) and the radio antenna adaptor is installed.
Where is a good spot to pull +12v and +12v keyed ?
Are there auxilliary taps on the fuse block? I looked but nothing seemed to obvious.
I am not positive on 12V Keyed, but you could try the fuse box, also if you have an aftrermarket stereo, you could jsut use the powerr atenna turn on off your deck. this way the changer will only be on when the stereo is powered up. For 12V constant, I took mine straight from the battery on my 2000 CC. On mine the battery is on the passenger side. ran the wire along the back of the engine compartment to the drivers side, then took it under the truck. there is a grommet near the floor area where my automatic transmission linkage goes through. I used this grommet to feed my wire through and it is easily hidden under the carpet and door sills from there.
An easy way to run through the firewall on SD's and EX's is to use the customer access wires. I believe there are 4 of them taped together, red, blue, white, and green I think. They start near the fuse box and dead end behind your access panel(below steering wheel) on the right hand side. Makes life a little easier to run wires through the firewall.

Hey that is good to know. I am planning to run some lights in the future! Ill have to check it out... Thanks!
I did get the changer installed, i traced out the factory radio wiring and checked the amp draw on them (listed rating) and there was enough on the "audio" fuse for the extra 1 amp (all # are listed max. ) for 12v and the switched draws off a second 10amp with more than enough to cover the other 3amp fuse. (again max draw). So I piggy backed the wires on to the factor under the dash with a few speed crimps (covered in clear silicon to prevent corosion)
worse case it will pop the easy to get to fuse in the kick pannel....
thanks all! I learn somthing everytime I get on this forum
