CD changer trouble

My factory cd changer in the center console in my 01 navigator does not read any cds, when i put the cartridge in and press cd on the radio, the cd changer cycles through each slot (1-6) and then it says empty mag on the radio when every slot has a cd in it. I shined a flashlight down into the cd changer while it cycles through each cd slot and i can see some stuff happening but it does not pull a cd/tray out into where its supposed to go i can see a little arm coming out to try to pull the cd out but it just doesnt do anything. IF you guys dont understand i can make a video.

Any ideas?

my wifes 00 expy was having trouble with the changer not ejecting and not even recognizing there was a magazine in...i took it out and took off the outer case and found several loose screws and 2 had actually came out and were just in the bottom of the case...it happened to be the two that hold on the arm that moves the cds and comes back to eject the magazine....i put them back,tightened evrything up and put it all back together and it works perfect...ive read quite a few threads of different people with loose screws,this could be your problem as well...it comes out of the console really easily with four screws and then just start unscrewing the case...work on a surface that will hold any screws that may fall out and carefully disassemble it,its screwed together and the two halves clip together ...after you have all the screws out of the case unclip the top of the changer(the trim around the magazine hole) and then unclip the two sides from each other then all thats left are the springs on each side of the changer,just go slow and you will be able to see how it all comes apart...good luck
