I have a F350 for towing a fifth wheel trailer. My truck is fitted with airbags for the load. When I am driving with nothing behind me I get the most annoying bounce. It almost makes you want to stop its so bad. What can I do to this truck to eliminate this? Your help will be appreciated.
I usually carry @50 psi. Sometimes it's on concrete road. Once around Oxnard California I almost had to pull over it was so bad.
Well, there is your problem. You have to let them down when running empty. Drop to 10psi or less and I guarantee you that you will see a huge difference. 50psi is pretty much eliminating your shock and springs when empty.
When empty I run mine at 5 psi and dont feel any difference at all compared to when I didnt have the air bags installed. I run 30-40 psi when loaded and if I forget to air them down after I unload I can feel the difference on the very first bump I hit. You didnt mention if it was a dually or not but my experience with past dually's was that they rode better with a load, even with no air bags at all.
