Voltage Problem
I have an 2003 F-150 with 150000 kms on it the voltmeter came one the other day and by the time i got home the voltage meter was at low. i installed a new altinator and charged the battery and the problem went away as i was out for a little test drive i passed a car and as the rpm's went up so did the volt meter almost to high as the rpm's went down so did the volts anyone else have a problem like this and or any ideas at the problem? does the computer need to be set after installing an altinator?

We need REAL voltage readings from a REAL voltmeter.
Disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes will reset the computer, however, the reset is not needed.
Sounds like the voltage regulator in the replacement alternator is crap.

Better take that alternater in and have them check it. Sounds like you got one with a bad regulator. You should be disconnecting the battery when you replace the alternator, so the unnecessary computer reset is already done anyhow. I've replaced the bearings in mt alternator once, the brushes twice, but the original regulator is still doing the job.
