Hey everyone, I'm almost done w/ my truck. Its painted and I am putting the interior in. I have to start from scratch on the stereo system so I need some help. My dad owns a wood shop so he's making me a console for it to hold the CD/receicer. And there are already whole cut in the side of the doors for speakers(no speakers were in them though.) I read in an earlier post that water could get down in there and I would have to put in waterproof speakers? If so where could i get them. I also want to put some small subs in it. The gas tank is behind the seat, so has anyone experimented with the "under the seat" boxes? If so, what size of speaker is good? And last, but not least, where could I, or could I get a complete wiring harness for it seems how there are no wires to start w/. Thanks!!!!!
Ok door speakers, You may get some moisture down in the door if your window seals are old or dried out. You can purchase speaker baffles that would keep the moisture out. I would just get some poly-cone speakers and they should hold up just fine (unless you have loads of water running in the door all the time).
Under the seat, you probably won't fit anything larger than 8's (maybe 10's) Remember, you need the propper volume to get the sub to sound right.
You don't need a harness, Just get some wire to hook up your power and ground, then just run some new speaker wire to your new speakers.
