I went ahead and orderd the Walker 21470 today. Just wanting to get feedback from some folks that have/had one on their truck. I am curious as to any mpg increase. I have searched on hear and read about the sound isn't much different than stock. I have an edge programmer and the 6637 with a beautiful cover from Pete, other than that it's stock. Thanks in advance for any and all input!
I have one installed & it gives a nice sound & whistle without being too obnoxious. Can't vouch for any mileage increase but it definately has better flow.
Cool! I want a little more sound and was hoping for a little bit of benefits to go with it. Just can't justify the 4" kits right now. Plan on doing the foil delete too, that should help with a little whistle from what I've read.
Anyone with a Walker BTM and stock air intake box? I would like to know if the drone heard is from the intake. Is any exhaust noise heard inside the cab under normal driving and highway cruising? Wife says keep it quiet inside the truck. She can tolerate the noise when you have to get on it, but not any constant noise while cruising.

I realize the Ford 7.3 PSD is noisy for city driving and accelerating. But generally once you get over 50 mph, the cabin gets quieter and the engine noise fades away. So I am more concerned with exhaust noise in the cabin when cruising at 55 to 65 mph on the highway and pulling a 6 to 10,0000 lb trailer. Can anyone describe the difference between the stock muffler and Walker BTM under these conditions? I also know that certain air intake mods cause turbine noise in the cab and I intend to keep the std Ford intake.
thanks,
Lynn

I had a walker btm, you get a heck of a lot better flow through that stock system. I believe the installation knocked like 200 degrees off egt's. This was before i put the DP in...After the DP if i drove it hard it would climb really high and stay around 800-900 degrees on the egts when cruising the highway at about 75-80 mph. The Walker BTM does what it has too, but eventually you get tired of the stock system and rip it out anyway. I had mine for like 7 months then ripped it out and installed the 5". im not sure how high your egt's will climb while towing a trailer. does the programmer read out egt's or do you have gauges? I don't have anything to haul yet, so mine really is a big toy...so i don't have information on how high of egt's you'll see while towing.
I've had the Walker installed now for a couple of weeks and I still have the stock air box on rig also. No whine in the cab at any speeds. Roll down the passenger window and go under a overpass or next to a building and step on it and you can hear a little turbo whine. On the road the overall sound is between a turbo muffler and a glasspack on a gasser, not bad at all!
BuddyB,
Do I understand that you do hear exhaust noise in the cab at highway cruising speed (windows up) with the walker BTM, yet it was quieter with the stock muffler?
