I do it every day just to prove to the Tundra owners that it can be done. Yeah, the truck did catch on fire and is sitting in my driveway...But I still go out every day and drop 660 lbs on the tailgate. You've got to have your priorities straight...

Thats pretty good, I know my F350 tailgate has a few spots in it that have cave in a little bit simply from walking on it with stuff in my hands

I used this line once before in another thread...

"It's better to burn out,
than it is to rust...
Hey-hey, my-my"

The sad part is it looks like the owner of that F-150 really took pride in keeping it nice. At least until it burst into flames on the street.

Thus far my Tundra still has a perfectly intact tailgate by the way. Oh, and it hasn't burned to the ground yet either.

What does a bag of groceries weigh? 10 lbs. max?

Haven't had the need to load groceries using the tailgate. That is what the back seat is for.

That said, I can walk around on the tailgate while loading and unloading various bits of furniture, fire wood, dead animals, tools, etc. So it seems strong enough for my use.

I do have to admit that I am a little jealous of that nifty Ford F150 BBQ grill option, if only they could get the bugs worked out it would be a great feature for any kind of camping or tailgating related cooking.

I had a little over 600lbs on the tailgate last night, and no damage was inflicted.

The truck didn't catch on fire either.
