97 CD Changer will not load / Panel removal?
Hello all,
I am trying to work on my buddies 97 XLT extended cab with the factory 6cd changer (clarion I beleive). It came used without the magazine but the dealership gave him one. We have varified it to be the correct part but when you push it into the unit, it never clicks to stay in the unit. It just acts like it never catchs. Needless to say, the radio keeps reading NO CD. Even read something about pushing 3+5 to turn off and on remotely. Well, we tried that and get something to display that says AUTO OFF, but have no idea how to change it. BTW, if you hit 3+6 it does a complete speaker test.
Is this just the radio has shut off the changer or do I need to remove the unit. If so, do you really have to remove the top panel, then the bottom?
