Overheating Ideas?? Help?

New Thermostat about 2 months ago, runs great. overheats on hills or under heavy acceleration. New water pump yesterday, new fan and fan clutch a week ago, a/c condensor is clear, radiator looks clean on front and back. I noticed a crack in the top of the reservoir, would that cause the overheating due to the pressure leaking out?? Thanks

Did you make sure you have the correct thermostat? How hot is the engine getting?

I understand what you are saying. If he has the short shaft stat, it will overheat everytime.

I guess you do know about the long and short stat shaft?

No I don't know anything about the short or long shaft stat, The engine does not go past the "r" in normal unless I'm accelerating heavy or pulling a hill or running over about 70. You have pics of the stats?

I don't believe the shaft on mine is that long. Is there a international or ford number to get the correct one asap. I use the truck everyday, can't really wait to have one shipped. Thanks

I don't have a #. But I would think your local dealer would have them in stock.

Good luck. Man, you changed a lot of things.

I think on top. If you would not have asked that question, I would have known. Getting too old.

Wait for someone that knows for sure. And I changed mine the end of last year.

Thats why I questioned the size of his shaft. We all know we have the longest shaft of the truck world.
