Thermostat goes in first, then the o-ring on top (provides a seal against the imperfections of the mating surfaces of the two halves).
I know you can't wait, but next time I recommend getting the 203F thermostat. Summer, winter, hot, cold, desert, 9% grade, it doesn't matter. My temp gage never moves once it's warmed up.

Well I pulled the same mountain again today with the trailer and the temp gauge never moved, so I'd say its good to go. Thanks for the help!!
