Bad connection within the unit maybe?
Take it down and tinker with it. What's the worst that can happen? You break it and need a new one?
Throw some solder at it. If that doesn't work, duct tape and a big hammer might!

I got mine fixed. Just cost me the price of a pencil soldering iron. There is a link on here that shows the repair. I followed it and it worked. If you need it let me know.
