Carb rebuild - need help identify proper model

Trying to tackle a carb rebuild. Truck is 54 F100 but at some point motor was swapped out to a 272 probably a 1957 or 58. It's a 2 barrel. Need to make sure I got the right rebuild kit. The #'s I found on the carb are A1.02 and C2AF AB. I think that makes it a Ford 2100 model...please correct me if I am off base. The rebuild kit I got from Dan Carpenter says it is for Holley Carb models AA-1, 2100 and 2110. Have I got the right thing? Is a 2100 the same animal whether Holley built or Ford built? Any suggestions on a good source for rebuild instructions...I've seen pdf's of a 58 service manual online??? Thanks

The Old Car Manual Project: Manuals and tech info online

There's only minor differences between the Holley/Ford 2-bbls from late 40's thru the late '50's. Your Y-block carb is probably a 2110 variant, if I'm not mistaken "C" series Ford stuff is from the '60's.

Thanks. That is the online site where I saw the instructions. The model # is what pointed me to the '58 service manual. The rebuild kit came from Dennis Carpenter's not Dan as I wrote in my original post. That instruction sheet lists a 2110 so I guess I have the right thing?

Ford 2v Carb Kit-1962/74

Not marked HOLLEY on the float bowl? Then it's not a Holley 2V and the kit from DC will not work. The Holley and Ford carb's don't even look alike.

C2AF-9510-AB = C2AZ-9510-B .. Ford Auto-Lite 2V Carburetor / 1962 Galaxie / This was the first year for the 2100 series carb.

Auto-Lite & Motorcraft use the same part numbers. Ford sold Auto-Lite in circa 1972, and replaced it with in house brand Motorcraft.

Carb Kit: D4AZ9A586A (Motorcraft CT499D) = replaces C2AZ-9A586-A and D2AZ-9A586-B.

MSRP: $31.52 / ftepartsguy.com price: $18.91

Available from Ford (as you can see), parts stores can cross the Motorcraft number over to the brands they sell.

Since the carb kit fits all the 2100 series carbs (car & truck) from 1962 thru 1974, there are extra parts included for 1970/74's only.

Sounds like I got the wrong kit. I guess my confusion comes from looking at the DC and NPD catalog at the avaialable rebuild kits and thinking I had chosen the right one from what was offered. They must not make what I need and therefore I need to head to the Ford parts dealer and for $31.52 I can make sure and get the correct kit. I live across town from DC and NPD but the Ford dealer is much closer. I guess I can take the carb over there and the parts guy can make sure I get the right kit.
