my 2000 f-350 crew v-10 seems like it is miss firing while accelerating. a diagnostic test said cylinders 1,6,9 were not firing properly. after changing all plugs and coil packs, engine still rough. i then ran a fuel additive and it seemed a little better. i also changed fuel filler cap. still not right. any suggestions? injectors maybe?
Ya might try cleaning the MAF, just after the air cleaner. Some here have mentioned that the v10 runs lean, when the sensor gets coated with a fine layer of crud. What fuel additive? Is there a chance you've gotten a batch of water from a resent fuel purchase?
i ran a couple tanks of fuel with techron fuel additive made by chevron. i have also run about 5 tanks with gas dry in it. the guy at the parts store told me if the techron didn't make a difference then the problem is probably mechanical... i will check the sensor and see if it full of crud thanks
when the truck is idling the exhaust has a rich smell to it. the rough running seems to be while accelerating. although once you get to speed the truck runs worse, if i turn off the overdrive and get the rpm up it runs smoother... still not smooth like it should. even though the engine light isn't on would this problem show up on a plug in diagnostic tester?
putting them on the ohm meter was on the list of things to try... thanks for the suggestion though. When calling around i don't find many places that stock these particular injectors, or even the rebuild kits...
