Happy Fathers Day, all FTE'ers. I hope you get all the shiny new tools and truck parts you want. (And if you don't, go on out tomorrow and buy 'em for yourself, you deserve it!)
Happy Father's Day to you all (and Flag day), and though I won't be getting any gifts from mine, atleast I can buy myself one...as soon as my rebate check gets here this week (supposedly)
Charlie, my oldest 17, with the 8N. My wife and me with my baby the F-2. Andy, my youngest 15, with the panel.
I took this picture after coming back from church this morning. They had a Father's Day service and asked everyone to bring their old cars, trucks and tractors. Charlie drove the 8N, my wife drove the panel and I drove the F-2, Andy rode shootgun in the panel with my wife. I had everyone line up the "Fleet" after we got home and stand next to unit. I thought it made for a good picture.
On a side note, I live out in the country on a farm and I let my kids drive my trucks up and down the road and the lanes on the farm. For some reason it's a little unnerving seeing them drive them around. I think because it's hard to realize they're getting older, I still see them as little kids.
Happy Father's Day!!!! I'm very blessed to still have my Dad and to work everyday with him!! So my wish is to happy father's day to all of you who dont still have your dads and that you would have fond memories of him. I loved the commercial of Ford trucks that BobJ put on the other thread! It almost made me cry!
Bob,
Great photo of you and the wife and boys. That would make a great Christmas Card. My son is eleven, I can't imagine having a seventeen year old is like.
Today my Boy Scout Troop (I am an Eagle Scout and now a Scoutmaster) had our annual BBQ and I do deal with teeny boppers on a regular basis. I would not be the man I am, if I were not a father. My dad is up on the great beyond, and I hope I am doing as good job as he did.
Thanks for your influence Dad...
Jeff
Father's Day was both great and tough for me! Great, because my boys (twins) gave me a new barbeque so I'd stop burning steaks and burgers. Took them out for a little cruise in the truck when temps came down and had a great day. My wifes B day is tomorrow, so we kinda combined the two and had a family day of it.
Tough!, it's been 6 years now since my dad passed away. It's hard not going to his house and wishing him a Happy Father's Day. We did everything together and he was always there for me no matter what. He taught me lots about building cars and working on them and relying on my own skills, and not someone elses. Happy Father's Day!
It was a great day for me but I also miss my dad, it's been over 17 years, just a month before my oldest was born, that my dad passed. I miss my dad a lot. I spent a very large portion of my childhood in my F-2 with my dad and that truck is my most prized possesion but I've told my wife I would give up all of my trucks if I could bring my dad back to meet my boys, I would do it in half a nano second. You just have to enjoy what you have.
Father's day was a great day! Wife and kids fixed me breakfast.....and later on...dinner.
Me and my youngest drove my old truck over and met some of the folks from the New Mexico chapter butmostly I just kind of hung out and enjoyed the day.
Bob, Fantastic pic!!! My youngest is 13, the danged kid is taller than I am, is as strong as an ox, has hands the size of dinner plates, etc. I find myself expecting way too much of him. I have to stop and remind myself that he's just a little boy.
