Hi all, just bought an 04 f350 SD and the owners man does not indicate what the button next to the 4X switch is,I am guessing it is to turn on/off the pass side air bag?? Thanks all rickk
The passenger airbag switch uses the ignition key. You may be referring to the backup sensor silencer switch, if your truck has the backup sensors. Maybe describe the switch?
LMAO- when i bought my truck I could not figure what that button was, but was too stuburn? to ask. I looked all through my manual and couldnt find an answer. Finally figured it out on my own. But you have to push it every time you put it in reverse. ( on mine anyways)
You shouldn't have to push it every time you put it in reverse. It silences the reverse sensor beeper if you are backing up with the tailgate down or for some other reason don't want it beeping at you. If yours is beeping all the time you could have a bad proximity sensor or a wiring problem.

Actually on the early years you do. It was very annoying if backing a trailer or something to have to hit the button every time you put it in reverse. I don't know if it changed on later years or not. I hope so.
I have an '03 and it only goes off when my tailgate is down or I'm close to something. You made it sound like yours automatically goes off when you put it in reverse, even if nothing is in the way, is this not true?
OH, no. I see what you mean. Yeah, if something is causing it to beep like a trailer or the tailgate, you have to silence it. I just found it annoying that you couldn't turn it off. IF you have to manuver something, going from forward and reverse a few times, you had to push the button every time you put it back into reverse.
