How much blow by is to much? I recently noticed by truck had a bit of smoke coming out of the oil cap when removed. Its not much just bearly enough to notice. At times it doesnt smoke none. on the ther valve cover the tube that comes up to the intake tube is dirt with like oil and dust. Is thsi some what normal?
Yes that all sounds normal. as long as the blow by is not huffing like a steam engine you are fine. A little vapor is common. alot of vapor/pressure is not.
thanks for the info. I was kinda worrying a little about it being normal or not. i looked through some of your pics and noticed u have a intecooer, right? what did you use and how much $? really nice by the way.
the price to convert depends on your willingness to custom make pipes and what kind of cooler you want. typicly the 6.0 coolers run 100-150 bucks on ebay and you can get tubes for 50 -100 complete, if you are creative you can cut and piece together tubes for your truck. you pretty much have 2 main chices for the intake spyder, tj has the one (i beleive banks?) and i have the other, ford's stock unit of the early build date 99's. i made my install from scratch in 1 saturday from start to finish working alone.
The smoke is normal. Here is a pick of my rig's CC vapor. Sometimes it seems like she's got a lot of smoke, especially when wind blows it infront of the headlights while idling.
