You'll lose money on the flat bed when you trade it in because the dealer won't care IMO. Just like if you have gauges, exhaust, intake etc. they don't give you more just because of that.

yup, the more the truck is modded the less it is worth (to a dealer). they are out to sell trucks to the largest market and thats the plain-jane pickup truck that looks like it came from the factory. you put on a flat bed, stacks, and 42" Iroks and you limit your market to a small slice of the original market. if you count the trucks (light duty, pickups) on the interstate and compare the ones that have been modded to the ones that are stock, theres no question which number will be higher.

bc the market is so crappy right now, i would not be surprised if the dealer offered you less than $7000 even with the standard bed! thats just me though.

throw the factory bed back on and put it up in Craigslist or Autotrader to see what people offer you, that will give you a decent base knowledge of what the market is demanding. then sell the flatbed and make a little more cash to go to the new gas-saver!

well i still plan on geting another f-250 deisel but newer... maybe still a 7.3... maybe a 6.0 and then again i might keep my truck to do some severe modding... so i will not want to on my newer truck... i kinda need a older truck as well as a newer one so i can take the older one on the job... don't really want to **** up a new truck... so now is the big ??? i have a few broke bolts on the motor mounts that are broke off flush how do i go about getting them out... there is only one bolt holding the motor on the left side and not really sure on the right side... and both of the ears that stick out for the bolts that hold on the tranny... on the x-member are broke off... any suggestions or should i just replace the tranny???

on a side note i understand why these places will give you less for a modded truck... cuz personally i am not gonna buy another truck if it has any little thing done to it... a chip or even the muffler cut off... i want it to be bone stock... no lift kits or anything...

He doesn't have a flat bed on it yet. But he should soon assuming he is going to honor the deal he made last week.
