Where are you going on vacation this year?

Well, despite fuel prices putting a big dent in all our travels this year, i,m taking two camping trips this year. One is a amusment park in Elysburg, PA called Knoebels. It,s free addmision, parking and you purchase tickets for the rides. One of only a few left in the country that do that anymore and its been around since 1926. My son,s are forth generation going to this park, a family tradition for sure. Next is down the New Jersey shore to Cape May, nice campground down there and will be there for a week. Where are all you FTE,ers going with your families?

I hope to go to Gatlinburg in July, for the rally. No camper yet, maybe motel 6. I told my wife that I'd buy a camper if she would buy me a new tractor, but I don't think that's gonna happen.

Took a couple personal days to go to the Carlisle, PA truck rally in August. Jim,(meggawatt) is coming down for that. With the way prices are going up, making the best out of these vacations this year.

south padre island again. we were able to rent the same beach house we did last year- $500 for 5 days. figured we would spend more than that on fuel doing anything else, so screw it. BBQ to save on food and lots of fishing. about the only other big expense will be the beer.

Read my location...

Lots of beach, but no water.

EDIT: Hytek -- I was in PCB last year at this time. In fact, I was there from Jan-June (on Tyndall AFB). I think I made up for my lack of vacations over the last several years during that deployment...

We usually go out of state, but not this year. My son and daughter in law are out west now, but their in a car that gets 30-plus mpg. If we go it will be next door in PA, or Kentuky.

We normally go to beach comber or big timber for a week. But since we are flying to Disney no camping this summer. First time in 13 years we won't be going.
