Okay first things first. After many frustrating nights I finally was able to get some photos into my gallery. I will add more later as I had soo many saved on my computer I had to burn them all to a disk.
Now my question; After removing quite a bit of old paint I was pleased to see I didn't have rust where I was expecting to have. However, if you take a look at my gallery you will see some serious rust/rot along the drivers' side and passenger side windshield body flange area. Although, I did find a steel cab repair panel (rear window frame only though and for $700 ouch!) I doubt they make a front frame. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so some pics of your fix would be greatly appreciated. I did a ton of searching thru this site prior to posting but I didn't see this exact issue discussed.
Lastly, I got a big laugh when I removed the top layer of old faded yellow paint off the door and to my suprise I discoverd I am the proud owner of an ex school vehicle...
Is the damage to the front windshield flange at the top or bottom? I have a 54 cab that was rotted at the top all the way from the rear view mirror mount to the visor mount. I had the good fortune of having another cab with a good windshield flange, cut it out and replaced it. Good luck.
I looked at your gallery. The rust pitting on the flange is no biggy. I would blast clean it and use a rust converter like Zero Rust (which I have used).
The rust-through areas on the rounded reveal area have to be patched. To my knowledge, there are no aftermarket patch panels for that. You can either form up some and weld in your own, or patch from behind and fill.
