Help with new truck
Hey guys. My grandpa just bought a 95 F150 XLT 4.9L 5speed. From what he tells me the previous owner told him that about a month ago the transmission started grinding when you would try to shift gears. Now it wont go into a gear at all. My first thought was the slave or master cylinder went out. Just wondering what you guys think and if it is that, Are there any good links on how to change that. I just changed one on my 99 F250 powerstroke but it is nothing like the one on his truck. Thanks for the help.

check tranny fluids, it should be atf in there. secondly try to pop it in gear while the truck is off. if it goes in gear while off box is not frozen = good sign. But if you have that good sign you need to start looking at your clutch

How does the clutch pedal feel? If it's spongy, it's air in the system, and won't dissengage fully. If it sinks with light pressure, than one of the cylinders is bad. If it's a firm pedal, it's most likely time for a clutch.
