i recently hooked up my speakers to a jensen 400w 4channel amp. i dont really have any money to buy a new amp right now so im using what i have. i used this amp to run my 2 12" pioneer subs and then my 12" infinity perfect till i got my rockford fosgate power 450s. my problem is i can hear noise thought my speakers when i have it turned up at a decent level. but it doesnt do this for every song (mainly on rock songs it does it), could it be the mp3s causing this noise (i have a cd/mp3 player). or could it be that i have my amps piggy backed? or could it be my amp is causung this. i have both amps grounded to the same spot, my RCA cables are on top my the carpet in wire loom and my power wire is under it about 6" away from each other, could this be causing it? its not really important, but i want to make my stereo sound nice, crisp and clear.
i know this is a lot, but any help will be greatfully welcomed
It could be from your MP3's. If you download tehm from the net they are not always put on in a clean format. Try a store bought CD and see if the sound is still there. NExt try grounding your amps in two different locations and see if they both still make the noise. If 1 does and 1 doesn't, then change the ground of the amp making the noise. Las thing to try is a ground loop isolator. you can pick them up for about 10.00 Checker, Wal-mart, target etc.. post back and let us know if any of this helps.
Ground loop isolator is basically an in-line input filter. You can pick one up at wal-mart for about 10 bucks. It has female RCA wires on 1 end, and male rca wires on the other. Plug you amp input into the ground loop isolator, and plug the isolator into your amp and walah! no more noise (usually).
