Core supports

How many different core supports are there for the 61-66?
How do you tell the difference?
Will core supports for the f100 2wd fit 4wd?
What's interchangeable?

I thought there were only 2 styles, 4x2 and 4x4. They aren't interchangable as far as I remember. With that said, DC has a picture of one in their catalog for you to compare, it's for a 4x2 model though.

I know the ones for the 65-66 2wd has different brackets for the inner fenders. To my knowledge they don't repop 65-66 yet, but you can take and weld the brackets from the old one on there.

I have used a 2wd core support on my 66 F100 4x4, there were small differances, but overcomable. I did go back to the 4x4 core support after it was repaired.

Ahhh...the age old question of core supports....there are 3 different ones used...

1961-4 2 and 4wd 1/2 and 3/4 ton are the same, its also used on 1965 and 66 3/4 ton 4wd , its also used on 1965 1/2 ton 4wd

This p/n is C2TZ16138G

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

1966 1/2 and 3/4 ton 2wd

This p/n is C6TZ16138B

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

1966 1/2 ton 4 wd is same one used on 1965 1/2 and 3/4 ton 2wd

This p/n is C6TZ16138C

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Just so people wont be confused, F100 = 1/2 ton truck

F250 = 3/4 ton truck

So then 350 on up are a different animal? Does any core supports from the 61-66 f100-f250 fit a 350 on up?
I noticed on a 350 that the main bolts bolting to the frame were spring loaded what's this purpose? are these hard to come buy?

(sigh)

Gangstakr: No offense meant, but you obviously didn't use the search function.

I've typed the core support info over 50 times on FTE just for 1961/66's...listing all the part numbers and applications.

is there a way that some of the more popular Q and A can be put at the top of the list ...like a sticky and just stay there permanent ???
The core support would be a prime example of a question to be put there.

What ya all think ??
