BTW do you have the stock hubs?

I just went out side, locked my manual warn hubs, pulled out of the parking spot and then back in just to make sure the hubs engaged and the steering issue was VERY bad, just pulling 20 feet foward and back.

I turned the truck off and put my chest on the tire and started rocking the truck and the passenger side shaft followed the rocking of the truck but the drivers side did not. I pulled the outer part of the hub off and my flashlight battery died and its pitch black outside. so that is all i got until the moring.

I will so happy if its an easy fix

I do have the stock hubs. It funny that you did this because thats where I felt the worst feedback thru the steering wheel....

Once I got the shafts out last night it was immediatey clear that the ujoint was bad.To be honest with you I think its the one that came in the truck . The reason I say this is because of how hard it was to get the damn thing out.

I set the axleshaft on a 6x6 block of wood that we use for random things in that garage. After a couple smacks with the 8lb sledge I was able to put the whole assembly in the vice and take the c-clips out. To be honest with you that was the longest part...gettin the rusted c-clips out. Once I got those out I put the 50 ton press into action and that old u-joint put up a damn good fight. Out of the 30 or so I have done in that press I have never had that much trouble getting a u-joint out in my life.
Once I got everything back together I jumped in the truck and took a test drive...Have you ever tried starting your truck with your fingers crossed
Drove around the block and had no steering wheel feedback. I then locked the hubs in and drove...no steering wheel feedback. I put the truck in 4wd and got no steering wheel feedback (other than normal)

I hate to count my chickens before they hatch but the u-joint seems to have fixed the problem. I will let yall know as soon as anything changes. I only replaced the passenger side...

OK, I fianlly got my Ujoints replaced on the front axle and that seems to have been my problem. The drivers side joint was fine but the pass side had turned one of the endcap needle bearings into very small little peices.

Im hoping this was my issue but I drove 100 miles yeaserday and its been good so far.

Next issue is shocks........
