you gonna do a top chop also? would look good if the top was lowered a few inches...
Funny you should mention that! Finally got the opportunity to spend some time on the Bronco II and started the chop. I laid the windshield back first to the angle I wanted, then started cutting the posts, etc.... Going good so far, the chop is 3 1/4", have things somewhat tacked back together now and it's looking good. Added some pictures in my gallery if you're interested. Anyway, having some fun with it and trying to just build me another unique Hot Rod Ford....
a auto glass shop should be able to special order or even cut down the existing glass if need be, my dad had to do that for his 47 dodge.
I'm doing a bit different route on this one, left the windshield stock and still installed to keep the stock size then pie cut the posts and laid it back about 5 degrees. I won't be using the rear glass, going to make it a sedean delivery----sort of.... Side windows and rear window will be lexan to cut down on weight.... Going to do a bit of bracket racing with it, glass is heavy....but still want to street cruise with it, so the Lexan side windows will be removable...
and you probably need the oem safety glass windshield for street legal reasons? right?
Yup, went through the ordeal of getting a windshield made once, $1200.00.
I had a bit of time today to start tacking the pillars back together... Surprised that it actually seems to be bringing the cab into proportion...Always thought they looked too tall, made it's just the big side glass??? Anyway, when I'm all done, doubt it will even look like it was chopped..... Having a blast with it, I'll be glad to get a couple other projects kicked out of the shop and be able to devout more time to the Bronco.
Spent part of the day on the Bronco. Got the roof pieces tacked back in place and one door cut and fit to the body. Added a few more pictures in my gallery for anyone interested in the progress of the build.
thought of a possible project, make a bronco 2 into a dually... chop the rear fenders offf of a dually p/u, and you would lose the rear fenders on the b2, grafting, welding... wonder if it would be feasible and if its been done.

Can't say I've ever seen it done, but anything can be done. Think it would be terribly out of proportion unless the Bronco II was stretched considerably........
