Traded some parts for my new project...It's a bit on the nasty looking side...Plans are a total build on it, including lowering, 9" rear, strut front, roll cage, 460 and a C-6 and run it as a bracket car.... I put some pics in my gallery of it's present condition.... Going to have a lot of the stock pieces extra if anyone needs some bits and pieces, let me know.
I usually hang out on the Bumpside forum, but figured I might as well get acquainted over here, too.
What'd ya ever do with the Ranchero?? Haven't been on Club Hot Rod in a bit.
Hey, how goes the battle??? Haven't seen you around in awhile!!!
The Ranchero is still on the chassis table, been busy as heck on customer stuff and just now finding some time to get back to my own projects.... I have been accumulating some parts for the suspension, need to get some moly ordered and bend up the cage, then put the suspension together... I've also done up a couple projects that are approaching completion for resale, then stand back and throw a bunch more money at the Ranchero for parts.... Hope to have it sitting on all four by fall.....
Why not??? Just giving it a new life...better then seeing them off to the crusher...
Restoring is boring... Anybody can restore a classic, takes a man to cut one up!!!!!
The one I got had the engine and trans removed and was destined to go to the crusher... I've managed to salvage a lot of very nice OEM parts off of it and am in the process of selling them to the guys who want the stock parts for their projects... When all the original parts are off of it, then I'll go to work on it and build it the way I want....
I doubt many of the restoration types would have given even as much as it was worth in salvage weight. So which is better, a new life as a Pro Street or Bracket Racer, or off to the crusher????
im looking at stuffing a chevy 350 motor and trans in a 78 toyota celica gt and make it into a sand toy, thinking of a bronco 2 rear end.
course its all going to be gutted, just factory chassis and body, that should get some looks
Well, it looks like the old Bronco II is gonna be in finding a home in the shop sometime in August.... Some radical body mods are in store for it, if anyone has any need for the side glass windows or the rear hatch, let me know. Still lots of good parts on it... I'll make a for sale ad once I get it taken apart and see what all else I won't be using from the stock parts......
Finally have a couple days to work on the Bronco.... Getting the engine and transmission pulled, removing some of the front sheetmetal.... A friend of mine needs the engine and transmission for his son's Ranger. Still no room in the garage, so I'll have to move it back outside for a spell til I get a couple of other projects finished up and gone... Added a couple "deconstruction" pics to my gallery....
Had some help come over on Sunday and got the body lifted off the chassis and set in the garage. Did a bit of mocking up and some measuring.... Ride height at the rockers will be 5.5", overall height at the top of the roof around 56". Lots of work to do on it and a couple other projects to get done before I can get at it.....
