I have an 03 that I lowered about 1 1/2". Mine has the independent suspension and I found a kit that was just new smaller springs. I also repolaced the shocks at the time. It wasn't to hard to do about 4-5 hrs.
Thanks Modified99. I'll be sure to help you out sometime!
wow touchy, all mod was doing was just injecting some humor........
To be honest on a side note, personally i come from the old school train of thought why anyone would ever want to lower something like this big of a vehicle is beyond me and how it looks but hey like I said, just my opinion/thought on the matter and if you want to complain about that like you did with mods humor then you know where you can shove it. Next time being a new user I wouldn't be quick to snap at people that have been around for a bit like mod, doesn't give a good first impression. Mod is good peeps and was just trying to make a funny
Who's getting touchy here? I ask a legitimate question (I thought) and all I can get is 2 smart-*** answers and a "shove it" ? I've lurked this board for awhile and learned alot, decided to ask a question and "wow" what a mistake! Sorry to bother you guys, I'll look and ask elsewhere.
the mistake is in taking the 1st 2 as smartass instead of a joke and the 2nd is knowing how you respond to peoples humor is going off on them, this "shove it" letting you know how its going to be taken by most people and responded to when you don't get the exact answer you want and you get mad at someone for a joke. You take it how you want but you came off on mod and I was just telling you how it is so dont get all hurt for me calling you out for getting mad at mod for just trying to make you laugh. We like to help as well as chat since this is a community and we like to have a little fun while we are at it because sometimes its needed and there was no call for you to be like that.
Yea, we can be a bunch of cranky old *******s can't we? What can I say? New guy comes in, misses the smiley and lashes back. Respect goes both ways and getting people here and keeping them here is what it's all about. *Everyone* has something to offer and if we chase off the new people our combined knowledge grows more slowly. Alienate a vetran and we loose a friend.
I really wasn't looking for a fight. I was surprised by the answers I got from a senior user; laughing, then sleeping (sorry I bored you). I also don't feel that I went off on him but whatever. It's all good, I'll just keep trying to get any help I can get. I realize lowering a 4X4 is unusual and you may not like it but I like the vehicle and want to lower it. Apparently I'm on an island here. Anyway, sorry for the perceived bitchyness. I meant no harm.
yeah its all gravy man. It looked to me like you were getting into it with a senior user and like usual with this bunch of great folks I jump in to defend em whether I ruffle feathers or not. I believe if you have put the time in ANYWHERE it deserves some sort of respect at least for time in and me being in the military I dont take to new people (dont care if its in forums or in real life at work) getting onto someone senior in a way unbefitting so thats where I was coming from when I jumped all over you for how you were reacting to mod.
And like I said it was only "my opinion" about lowering it and my old schoolness, you are the one that has to drive the thing and paid for it so i cant tell you what to do with it, just advise you on my thoughts.
I have not seen 4xs lowered personally, but there was an F350 4x that could be lowered or raised through airbags.
It was featured on a TRUCKS episode on the Spike channel.
Try going to any of the airbag companies websites and get in contact with their tech lines. Ask about systems that allow lowering of truck using bags.
This maybe an expensive option, and probably not what you were looking for.
There were also threads with lowered Broncos on FTE, but I can not remember if the Bronco had a 2wd conversion.
BTW, you NEWBIES need some whooping! (note grinning smiley)
