Intro
I don't own a Ford pickup yet but I'm seriously looking at a '96 F250.
It's a 7.3 powerstroke, 5sp manual, 4x4 with 176,000 on the clock.
It's been used to pull a horse trailer and it looks to be in very good condition.
The asking price is $7k.
I'm here doing my homework.
The price seems fair by what I've seen on Ebay, autotrader & Craigslist.
I've been searching the net but I really don't know what to look for that would make this a good or bad buy.
Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks Chuck U&R

Have you checked out our tech forums on that one? We have one for the motor as well as a lot of good diesel advice. Here's a link to the forum for the year: 1987 - 1996 F150 And Larger F-Series Trucks - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
Post any questions you have on it and see what others say.
I'm too new at Fords, 4x4's & TDs' to know what Q's to ask.
I guess what I'm looking for is : If you were looking at a '96 F250 PS 4x4
what would you check to see if this was a good truck to buy.
I own a '00 Dodge 1/2t Ram now.
It's been a good truck but it's just not a TRUCK !!! if you know what I mean.
