Instant Heat?

I've got heat coming out the vents 30 seconds after a cold start. Is there some sort of electric heat grid that warms me up so fast?

I have only heard of that on the new generation f series. on the new trucks it is only available with the diesel. It is called the rapid heat cab heater on the new trucks

That is a new option for the 08 trucks that was not available on previous models.

I wish mine would do that because it usually takes a mile or two of driving before I start to feel any heat at all.

I no more than back out of the garage and I can feel warm air blowing. It's not as hot as when the engine has fully warmed up, but it is definitely warm enough to take the chill off.

Possibly the heat comes from the tranny??? According to my dash gauge that warms up real fast.

that dash gauge is way wrong, I just installed an after market gauge and you should see the difference in time to get up to temp on them

rollerstud- Did you install a dash gauge for tranny or coolant? Did it take longer get up to temp then the dash gauge indicates?
