alright i posted this a while ago, some ideas were thrown on the table..
pleASE all advice will be considered
nothing was concluded.
heres what we know,
-Left turn signal Used to just stay on when i flipped the lever down
-changed the flasher relay in the dash.
-Now it flashes a trillion mph
-it only does it when the headlights are ON
-the hazards flash once and stay on
- changed the rear bulb because there was question.
what do you guys think?
some said multifunction was bad, but this sounds a little different... dont want to buy it unless you guys are pretty sure.
My left signal light recently started to flash "a trillion mph" also, but only when my steering wheel is tilted down. This was happening when I bought the truck a few years ago. The signal was replaced and the problem was gone. This may not be your case, but you might want to investigate this.

You have a short drawing more amps than the flasher can handle.
I've seen this a hundred times...
Same thing happens when adding a trailer tow package, but without upgrading to a heavy duty flasher...
I'd about guarantee the short is to the headlight circuit. I BETCHA it's at the front of the truck! Check your wire looms where they go through any sheet metal. Also pull all your lenses and bulbs and see if the bulb sockets have corrosion inside them. I'd try that first.
ONE LAST - if you have any collision damage on the front of the truck, take a hard look at all the wiring in the immediate vicinity of it.
yea this is what i was affraid of ,lol a needle in a haystack, first im going to check the trailer wiring make sure some thing didnt short, then i will head under the hood, i dont know if it ever had and front end damage, i dont think so, but i will investigate, i have a strange feeling it had a snowplow on it once (yes, on a 150...) there is alot of plastic cut under the front i put my bullbar on and the mounts on the frame were already exposed... so maybe the lighting was tapped on to or something, i will have a looksie...
taillights and headlights come on together right ? i was just thinking that all that crap back there seems to be easily corroded/disrupted.... plus i was muddin and i think it was dragging for awhile when it got deep...haha...doesnt hurt to look eh?
SOLVED!! my led strip light under the tailgate that plugs into my 4prong trailer end has a dead short apparently, i had a gut feeling about that... the ends looked rather corroded, i played with it and it worked one minute and not that next.. so i unpluged it and it works so we'll see if it lasts.. so glad it was something simplE all this bs!
i didnt even get the hood open, i went straight for the taped up connection in the rear. someday when the under carriage isnt pack with dirt and mud and sand i will work on it more.... everytime i moved i got a cup of sand over my face...
I hear ya! Try being under a motor home, looking up - and realising you just slid your creeper out from under DIRECTLY beneath where the sewage drain cap comes out...
