my chasis is done painted with the susp pieces. now to pick it all up and re assemble! looking at the frame in paint makes all the welding and fitting finally pay
happiness is short lived. frame unwrapped today for start of re assemble. not even been in the weathewr yet and there is traces of rust! painter didnt angle gun and blow paint into openings of boxing plates and there is a little residue. missed painting between bottom of rear x member and frame so there is a line there too.
i started assemble anyway. have rear in loose and front susp started. bolted new brake pedal and booster kit in as well. never dull. you would think after blasting the frame and all the prep they could actually cover it with paint?!
just got in from installing susp. the front mII is in short of the rotors and brakes, waiting for the mech to greese the bearings. trans x member in rear susp in now waiting for the rear to be built. new gears. then can install the rear disk kit.
painter took 4 shocks and didnt paint them so i will paint them before install, 2 blue 2 silver wont look so great with all black underpinnings!
Sorry to hear about the poor paint job; diappointing but not unsalvageable. So far I've coated my frame with POR15 and now with rattle can box liner. At least it should delay the rust, it never sleeps.
