What year is this truck?

...and more importantly, is there a chance it has ram's horns?

I tried to research it myself, but I coldn't find anything, and I know next to nothing about the big trucks. Help?

So then it's possible this thing has ram's horns, right? My apologies for the low quality pic, but all I had was my cell phone. I should have taken a pic of the whole truck. It's a big ol' flatbed and the cab almost kinda sorta looks COEish.

I can help to ID the truck but I can't tell you anything about the engine. Somebody more knowledgeable than I will be along.

The N series was produced from 1961 to 1969, and then was replaced by the Louisville LN series.

1963 Ford Super Duty N-Series

<img src="http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/1960-1969-ford-trucks-21.jpg">

Ford's Super Duty line is represented here by a new-for-1963 N-Series short conventional truck. The H- and N-Series carried diesel engines, as indicated by a nose badge on the H and the nose lettering on this N.

61-64 N series had Y Blocks 65-69 had FT engines IIRC. I think the fender badge indicates 65-69 but then my N series knowledge is limited. Most importantly, yes there is a chance it may have rams horn manifolds you just won't know until you look.

It is definitelly a N Series truck. Where is it. I have a 69 n600. I would be interested in the truck. Most of them come with inline 300 6 cylinders. Did you open the hood? I gave a 292 y-block to walford56 he may have a rams horn. also bigwin56 deals with those. I remember a post awhile back that said he had some in the garage.

It's in NW Florida. Did I open the hood? Uh, nope; not my truck. If I opened the hood, I'd know whether it had ram's horns.

I took a closer look at it later, and boy, it's beat up!

Hi Kevin,where have ya been? I do not have any ram horns but wish I did,and will buy a pair soon. I just brought home another 56 from Alabama and the metal on it is nice. I also got a 1960 292 and 4 speed and will use it in my truck. The 1 I got from you is not usable. I am still having back and leg problems and till I am better,most likely won't do much. Is the wrecker running now? Hope you are still building trucks and hope to hear from you.....Bill

I almost fetched one of these gratis a year or so ago.
My dad has always wanted a 67 F series truck to pull his 67 fastback to car shows. I found that 67 N series and was going to give it to him. Woulda made a fun project. I was most interested in the steering wheel that looked like my 56 wheel, but white.

from what I remember, 64 was a slight body change in that the older N trucks had a sleek roof, like shown in your pic and the reference pic above. Somewhere around 64-67, they raised the roof, literally. Just above the windshield, the roof line jutted up steeply.
