so now that the summer is almost here anybody going on any vacations or is the price of gas going to keep yall at home or close to it. I am going to Italty and Greece this summer with some friends and a teacher from school, but when I get back I am going to have to work hard to make up for it and to pay off my motorcycle, since I am only in high school I cant work full time so I got to work when I can this summer
My oldest daughter got married in April.
My youngest daughter is going to Europe with her school in late June.
My youngest son has swimming practice(s) and competition(s).
My oldest son needs a new transmission in his car.
My wife has to have knee surgery.
And. . . they have all looked to "The First National Bank of Dad" for help.
I'm so broke, I can't afford to pay attention!!!!!!!!!
So no, I'm not going on vacation this year.
Wife and I just got back from Vegas/Grand Canyon. My company sent me out to a conference in Vegas, so my airfare and a couple of nights of hotel (at the Luxor, no less) were on them. We just paid for camping at the Canyon and a week worth of rental car. We went through maybe 2.5 tanks of gas since I requested a fuel efficient vehicle. It still came out alot less than if we had to have driven out there on our own dime.
We've got one more hiking trip planned for September, but nothing else except for some small camping trips relatively close to home. While gas prices aren't killing us, I can't justify spending so much on it to do almost the same camping 50 miles from home instead of 200 miles. So in a way, it is limiting what we'd normally try to go see.
A lot less day and weekend trips that we usually take. Was supposed to drive down to FLA in 2 weeks to bring my daughters furniture down to her. Fuel will cost about $800. so that might put plans on hold.
i'm actually on vacation this entire week and you see what i'm doing? i'm sitting right here in my living room on this computer. i'm contemplating renting a car and hitting up a couple friends in the hill country but that's only cuz i've only got myself to worry about and i'm deserpate for some time away from the current hell i've landed myself in. i figure if i can find camp sites along the way and save on hotel i can make a 3 or 4 day driving around TX visiting people vacation and leave tmw but we'll see when it comes to actually committing the money to it tmw... *shrug*
The wife and I were going to go on a vacation this summer to go back to Reno and see some friends, but I opted out of it until November when our baby is born so I can spend a week at home with mommy and baby.
i just got back on the 26 of may from the philippines.i was their with my wife for 35 days.my vacations are over for this year. The price for gas their is about 1.15 a litre, but diesel is close to a buck a litre.
my summer vacation is my annual road trip in november from fl to ma&ct for deer huntin....dont think that i can actually swing it this year. the last 3 years were getting harder each year.
and if i remember correctly last november i was paying on average 2.85ish. i remember 3.15 in n.york.
We're headed to our place on Oak Island for a week after the 4th of July and then a trip to Cape Hatteras for some fishing. The heck with it I'm taking a vacation this year even if I only get 10.2 mpg!
