No cruise engagement. Mine was leaking brake fluid out to the connection. Took me forever to find that leak.
It started off the cruise would just turn off by itself. Then finally quit altogether.

Glenn. Are you having any problems with your cruise? I thought the 0566 only showed up if you were running the switch test.
Have you double checked your TS chip? A loose chip can cause all sorts of problems.

No problems at all with cruise. I was leaning towards the TS chip too, I'll take it out and double check the connection.

How did it start the rest of the day? A code for a switch test and a non existent 2nd alternator sound like a PCM issue. Loose chip, something got wet, or weak batteries or corroded cables come to mind (at least my simple mind).

update: everything seems normal. still got the 1211 and the 0541 code yesterday afternoon and checked it again once returning to work. i'm almost certain the chip is/was loose. i'll take it out when i get some time on my hands. thanks for the help guys.
