Unhappy Starting Question

Hey Guys and Gals. This morning I tried to start the truck and it just turned over, no start. When I turned the key to run and waited for the gp's I noticed that I could hear the fuel pump running then it would just quit. So I turned the key off, did this process again and same thing. So the next time I just tried to start the truck without waiting. It fired up for a second then quit. At this time I am getting frustrated, late for work already, long weekend. I'm thinking its the CPS, I haven't had any sings of CPS failure that I can think of. So after a few tries of starting truck with no luck I get my superchip to see if there are any codes, hook it up and it tells me its unable to establish connection....WTF... So I un-hook it, and trie to start the truck again and it fires up..................I'm lost

I know its Monday and there is no need for such a long post but I need some advice. I'm leaning towards the TS chip or CPS. What do yall think. Oh and Happy Monday!!

Glenn, when you turn on the key, the fuel pump is doing its job. It will run long enough to pressure up the system then stop. Do you have a spare CPS in the glove box? If not, I would get a new one and change it out. If thats not the problem, you have a spare CPS in the glove box. Then you can go from there.

Ok, so the fuel pump will just stop. For some reason I figuered it would always be running. I'll have to pick up a CPS. What do you think about the superchip no being able to connect. I'll go out side to see if it'll read now that the truck is running.

ok, superchip read 5 codes!!
0113 - IAT Sensor Ciruit High Input (don't know what this means)
0541 - Manifold Intake Air Heater (I just did the AIH delete would that cause this)
0566 - Cruise "off" Signal Malfunction (Cruise works, don't understand this one)
1107 - Dual Alernator Lower Circuit Malfuntion (I have single Alt.???)
1211 - ICP not Controllable (common with Chiped truck right)

That 1211 is common like you said, not a big worry. Have Tony change the parameters next time he re-burns your chip. The 0541 would definitely be because of the delete. The 1107 and 0113 I'm not sure on those. One of the guru's will chime in shortly.

I would clear them and check again later. These things can hic-up at times. I am not sure about the codes either.

The IAT is the Intake Air Temp Sensor. It is the small sensor that plugged into the stock air box. When you did the 6637 what did you do with the IAT? If it is still connected maybe it got a dose of really warm underhood air. If you can clear the DTCs which ones come back after a test run?

I tossed that with the factory box...woops. Thats good cause I thought I might have been getting that code after the AIH delete mod. HAHA guess that why my truck hasn't high idled in a couple of years.

I cleared the codes. Started the truck, seems fine. I'll have to recheck them when I get home today. 0113, 0566 and 1107 codes worry me though, hopefully someone will know what they are and how to fix.

The 1107 code may be the sensor on the brake fluid reservoir. Used to sense brake psi to turn the cruise off. I had to change mine out last year. Only 20.00 bucks at dealer, and comes with a new pigtail for the install.

That is why it won't high idle and why you get the 0113 code. TW may offer a high idle tune.

OK Rick, I'll look into that. Guess my truck is mad at me for some reason. Last week I had to replace the master and slave cylinder on my clutch, the parking brake cable broke the other day and now a hic-up hopefully.

Rick,

With that sensor out a tap on the brake would not turn off the cruise?
Or was the default a no cruise engagement?

The TS chip has the High Idle setting, but it worried me before when I had my superchip on the truck, thought something was broke.
