Looking for frame VIN

Good moorming crew. What a beautiful day. I have been removing the front off the 54 f-750. The only things left on it are the doors and the hood.

Not sure about them yet. I am looking for the VIN on the frame. Can't find it yet. Any Ideas?

Special note: My hood worked fine and is still in place. However, since I took everything else off, the hood does not close to well now. I have not touched the hindges in any way. I am thinking that has something to do with the support rods to the radiator frame.

can't help on the hood..

the VIN on my 55 chassis is on the top of the frame rail, behind the front axle and before the cab. (you have to take the inner fender off to see it)

passenger side..

I had to sandblast the frame to see it. Wire wheel wasn't enough.

went out to the truck, sanded down top of frame rail to bare metal from axle to cab, pass side. No numbers. What exactly am i looking for, ( stamped in or welded on top) Where else may i find the number

its stamped in, very light on my truck but readable.

Also heard, but never seen, it stamped onto the front cross member, passenger side, trailing edge..

there was a pic someone posted last week on the VIN they found.. (ok, 3 weeks ago)

FOUND MY VIN

Thanks to all: I located my VIN on the chassis. It is as someone mentioned, on the front crossmember, pass side, trailing edge.

I have said many time, this site is the best. Matches my vin plate in the glove bex
