First of all welcome. one of my favorite sayins is nobody in their right mind drives a chebby. a ford man with a chebby engine is only half there. LOL jsut makin fun. buy you a cheap compression tester and do a compression test on the engine. this will tell you wether or not you wanna stick money into a dying engine or start looking for another one. i bought my tester at harbor freight for 22 bucks and it works just fine for what i need it for. it also has the connection in there for pressuring the cylidars to see if it's valves or rings that are bad. most of the time it's valves but you never know . good luck. dutch
The other thing to look at is the base of the carb where the PVC valve hose enters. If it have been blowing by for a while sometimes the passage becomes clogged. The PCV valve is a $4 part and is available everywhere. The carb base gasket should be around $12 if you get one that is thick to prevent heat transfer. In case you didn't know it is on the driver side valve cover close to the power steering pump. While the engine is running pull the valve out and see it if sucking air. No suck, blockage.
Tried posting earlier on your threasd and it disappeared to another thread so will try again. Welcome to the site there are people here that are extrmely knowlegable here that can fix any problem you might have. i might add here that you could purchase a cheap compression tester and do a compression test on the engine . that'll tell you whats goin on in there. if you have a piston or two that have no or low compression then you prolly wont cure the oil spitting . i bough my tester at harbor frieght for 22 bucks and it has the connection to pressure the cylindar to tell you if it's valves or rings that are bad. good luck. crap it did it again. sorry guys i tried to post on a different thred twice and they both ended up here. maybe you should do a compression test on it. LOL dutch
