I am finally going for it! I recently acquired a "high-boy". I am planning on transplanting the cab and bed from my 66 2wd. I have verified that the cab will land on the frame and I can make it all work. I would like to replace all the body mount bushings with new when I do this.
My problem is this: What year body mount kit do I need? Prices are all over the board between the years for a 66 model and a 73-79 model. Also big difference in price from say LMC-Bronco Graveyard.
It looks like the least expensive route for all the hardware(excluding bed) is actually LMC. Provided all the bushings and hardware from a 66 will work on the later chassis. Does this work and allow for tires up to 35"?
What have you all done that have made this swap? What did or didnt work. I am planning on doing all this Christmas break so I need the correct parts on hand.
The only thing that I have done close to this is, I put a 65 2wd body on my 66 4x4 and used the mounts from the 2wd on the 4x4, they were all the same. Not much help with the 70's models
