I am the happy new owner of a '50 F-1, which came with two extra grills. I want to replace the existing, it has been painted, cracked, etc. I took out all of the bolts that I could find, but it looks like the part where the headlights go has to come out toward the radiator and the center where the bars are has to go away from the radiator.
It is almost impossible to remove the grill without removing at least one fender.
There are about a gadzillion bolts holding the danged thing in place. And you can bet your butt that the one that have captured nuts will no longer be captured.
Eric, if I read correctly you have two extra grilles? If so any plans with the second spare? I'm in need of a grill in good shape as mine (49F1) has heavy damage and I'm afraid is not salvageable.
As for the removal......the entire truck was built around the grille so it is no easy project. Your front clip should look like the exploded view that Bob posted before it is ready to come out....LOL
