got my hands on 20 gallons of #1 home heating oil,yep its (red) im gona use it as fuel! What ya think?
Don't post this info in Club FTE, a whole lot of the peeps that hang out in there will have you tarred, feathered, and in front of a jury of your peers in no time flat.
No, I was completely legal, they checked my license, dipped the tank, and told me to have a nice day.
That's good. I got written up (no fines had 15 days to correct and send in paper work) for expired medical card, expired inspection sticker, I spaced that one out big time, and no chock blocks. I had some nice aluminum ones but someone removed them from the truck, they left the chains there though, nice of them huh!
Watch your EGT'S, and water temp, it does burn extremly hotter. I have run It straight in the winter months, but never when the outside air temp is above 35'F.
I say if you got it run it. We pay way to much for taxes anyways. As long as you know the penalty and are willing to accept the risk, it's really nobody elses business. IMHO
There is a place about 30 minutes from my house that sells red at the pump. I have been thinking about going out there with a 55 gallon drum and filling her up!!

Medical card?
Chocks?
What kind of laws do they have in Ted Kennedy/John Kerry land?

Strange ones.........LOL........Like gay marriage, diesel cars are illegal I think, the list probably goes on and on. It's a good place to stay away from.

Oh we have all sorts of good ones. Any commercial vehicle 10,000 lbs and over you are required to have a medical card, (from a doctor stating that you are in good enough health to drive the vehicle), fire extinguisher, road flares or triangle, and chock blocks. When I got stopped,by the commercial truck division of the MA State Police, I was in the 14,000 gvw cabover that I have.
I asked him about my dually, since it is registered commercially, an is registered for 12,000 GVW it falls under the same catergory.
This is an example of laws run amok. Here is a guy getting some free fuel, given to him, but it just happens to be red. No taxes have been evaded, since no financial transaction took place. And yet, the burden of proof is on HIM. If he gets pulled over and dipped, and it comes up red, he has committed a crime? Ridiculous.
I think someone needs to design a two-part tank, with a compartment that always has green diesel in the filler neck area, and a secret filler tube for the rest of the tank.
I've heard another one of those greedy NE states has some kind of swab that can be rubbed in the tail pipe and can tell if dyed fuel has ever been used. That one kind of scared me.
wow. I guess I'll consider myself real lucky that I have never been pulled over and "dipped". I live near a lot of agriculture, too...so you'd think they'd really be testing for it.
